Home And Away fans were delighted last week by the news the show would be welcoming two newcomers to Summer Bay.

Following the recent exit of favourites Sarah Roberts and Tim Franklin, the arrival of new characters played by Laura McDonald and JR Reyne brings a wave of much-needed excitement.

The cast are already celebrating their debut as they arrive on screen this week.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend Sam Frost, who plays Jasmine Delaney on the soap, shared a sweet welcome to Laura and JR.

“Next week on Home And Away we welcome these two angels ✨,” she began.

“Grounded. Kind. Talented humans. Such a beautiful addition to our H&A family❤️.”

Patrick O’Connor, who plays Dean on the show, also shared a cheeky look at newcomer JR, and the resemblance between the two actors is striking.

JR could pass as Patrick’s twin.

While Paddy shared a snap of JR with a beer in hand, JR posted a pic of his co-star doing the same with the very telling caption: “My actual bro/twin.”

Patrick’s character Dean has already seen a surprise sibling storyline with the arrival of Mackenzie (played by Emily Weir) but given the nature of his relationship with his absent father, there is always a possibility of another secret sibling popping up.

With the first look at Laura and JR’s arrival dropping this morning, we now know the duo will play characters Sienna and Emmett, and will be part of Nikau’s modelling storyline.

Seriously, like looking in a mirror.

JR is no stranger to Aussie soaps having appeared on hit shows such as Winners & Losers, The Secret Daughter and Neighbours.

The 35-year-old memorably played Erinsborough High School hunk and captain of the football team, Taj Coppin, from 2002 to 2004.

One of Taj’s more memorable storylines came opposite Delta Goodrem, who famously played Nina Tucker on the show, as her love interest.
