Last week Home And Away star Penny McNamee was serving up some serious 80s inspired glam on the set of the show.

This week, Emily Symons has done us one better sharing a throwback to the actual 90s and an equally glamorous look her character Marilyn was rocking at the time.

In the glorious pic, which was actually shared to Instagram back in 2017 before being re-shared now, Emily aka Marilyn is rocking a tightly curled up-do, hot pink dress and matching pink hair clip.

A beauty blast from the past!

“Flashback to before hair straighteners were invented, this early 90’s Maz do is the result of a nice scrunch dry with diffuser 😂😝Here with Nicole Dickson. Thanks @summerbayfashion 😘,” Emily wrote at the time.

Also in the photo is Nicolle Dickson, who played one of Summer Bay’s most iconic characters, Bobby Simpson.

One of the show’s original characters, having appeared from the pilot episode, Bobby was a trouble-making teen whose confronting attitude won over audiences everywhere.

Bobby was tragically killed in a boating accident in 1993.

Emily has been one of the show’s longest running characters.

Marilyn, on the other hand, has become one of the show’s longest running characters.

First appearing in Summer Bay in 1989, Marilyn crashed a boat her boyfriend, Lance, had hired straight into Alf’s vessel.

Marilyn remained on the show until 2001 when she left for London. Emily returned to reprise her role on the show in 2010 and has remained a Home And Away fave since.

Emily learnt how to act on set from co-stars like Ray.

For Emily, Marilyn was just her second big acting role – after a stint as Anne Costello in the short-lived soapie Richmond Hill. She calls Home And Away her “training ground”.

“I was fresh out of high school,” she told TV WEEK in 2019. “I didn’t go to acting school – that [H&A] was my acting school. Everything I’ve learnt was from watching Ray Meagher [who plays Alf Stewart], Judy Nunn [Ailsa], Cornelia Frances [Morag] and Norman Coburn [Donald].”
