“Bullet dodged”: Over 50 women furious at 50 year old man who refuses to date women his own age

This 50-year-old author refuses to date women his own age, because he thinks they're "too old". What a tosser!

When we think of fabulous women over 50, we think of incredible ladies like Nicole Kidman, Julia Roberts and Kerri-Anne Kennerley.

These women are at the top of their game both professionally and personally, having sorted through the self-doubt and insecurities that come in our earlier years. Now they’re absolutely killing it and they never apologise for it.

But one small-minded man by the name of Yann Moix, a popular 50-year-old French author, doesn’t seem to get this.

Women over 50 around the world have expressed outrage this week at horrendous comments made by Moix, who says he is “incapable” of loving a woman over 50, because they are “too old”.

“At 50, I am incapable of loving a woman of 50. I find that too old,” writer Yann Moix said in an interview with Marie-Claire magazine’s French edition.

“I prefer younger women’s bodies, that’s all. End of. The body of a 25-year-old woman is extraordinary. The body of a woman of 50 is not extraordinary at all. When I am 60 years old, I will be able to; 50 will then appear young to me,” he said.

Moix added that he preferred to date Asian women, especially Korean, Chinese and Japanese women.

“It’s perhaps sad and reductive for the women I go out with but the Asian type is sufficiently rich, large and infinite for me not to be ashamed,” Moix said.

For context, here is a photo of Moix, who is certainly no spring chicken himself.

The floodgates of outrage and disgust opened on Twitter this week, as older women slammed Moix’s sexist comments.

“Yann Moix needs to know that it takes a real man to appreciate a real woman. I wouldn’t look at him no matter what his age,” one woman wrote.

“Women ALL OVER THE GLOBE are devastated that this rather exhausted looking 50 yr old tiny man has written us all off,” another said.

An over 50 woman said: “This guy is as shallow as they come. Women over 50 are not only still attractive but they can carry on an intelligent conversation and contribute equally to a relationship. #shallow.”

Others dubbed him the “loser of the century”, an “egotistical ageist prick” and a “backward-thinking man who looks like Gollum.”

“Yann Moix thinks older women are repulsive. A weird flex for someone who looks like a depressed Boston terrier, but OK,” one woman said.

Another summed up the whole saga perfectly: “Women over 50 who have just learned they will never feel the loving caress of Yann Moix are breathing a collective sigh of relief at the bullet they’ve dodged.”

To celebrate all the fabulous women Moix just tossed aside with his stupid comments, we’ve rounded up ten of our favourite over 50 female celebs to prove turning 50 really is something to be celebrated.
