Cannes allows our favourite famous faces to slip into their most luxe gowns and channel their inner red carpet Queens.

This year has already kicked off with some huge wins thanks to Bella Hadid (despite a variety of wardrobe malfunctions), Julianne Moore and Robin Wright.

But it was Susan Sarandon who truly reigned supreme, donning an enviable velvet green frock with a thigh-high split. The 70-year-old topped off her look with a pair of shades and a whole lot of sass.

Jessica Chastain wore a lavender Givenchy gown, complete with a metallic tassel hem that deserves a shimmy!

Sarah, Duchess of York, and her daughter Princess Beatrice (who arrived straight from Pippa Middeton’s wedding) both wore jewel-toned gowns, fitting for royalty to a charity fashion parade at Cannes.

Bella Hadid once again turned heads in this sheer, grey, figure-skimming gown that left little to the imagination. Thankfully the model can pull off such a tricky colour!

Israel’s Minister of Culture and Sports, Miri Regev, walked the red carpet in what was supposed to be a dress she claimed celebrated the anniversary of the reunification and and liberation of Jerusalem, but ended up causing a political fire storm with some critics calling out the minister’s casual approach to the Palestinian conflict. The dress features the skyline of Jerusalem with the Western Wall, the Tower of David and the Dome of the Rock.

Clear the stage, the Queen of Cannes Susan Sarandon is here! And the 70-year-old looks sublime. Her sunglasses deserve their own moment in the sun.
