Psychic Medium John Edward has been a household name for more than three decades.

In fact, the Crossing Over star was the first medium to really catapult the industry (and himself) into stardom – well before the likes of Hollywood Medium Tyler Henry and local Aussie reality star, Jackie Gillies.

Now, embarking on his 16th consecutive tour of Australia, John is back and bringing his unique and incredibly special show to the legions of fans – and their children and grandchildren – who have followed him for years.

When John sat down with Now to Love, he explained that “trust” was the reason that gave him the longevity in this competitive industry.

“I’ve been doing this forever,” John said. “But I don’t have a media presence and I don’t have a show. I’m not like: ‘I have a new book’, so why me? Like there are fifty thousand other people that are claiming to do this.

“But they trust me. So I think that’s where the longevity comes in. I’ve always put the work first. It’s not about me it’s about the message.”

And these “messages” are what keeps people coming back for more – messages of love, support from loved ones who have passed away.

And while we were completely fascinated by his 34.5 year career, there was one thing we wanted to know his interpretation of – what happens when we die.

“So I don’t know for sure,” John admitted. “I mean, I have my my philosophy, but like everybody wants me to write that book – like ‘what’s that guide to the afterlife’. And I’m like guys, I can’t write that book.

“The reason I can’t write it, is that I don’t live there. I live here. But I believe that when we leave this physical body, which is just a vehicle, and we leave this vehicle, we vibrate at a higher frequency. And I believe that frequency evolves to a plateau or a level of accomplishment on a spiritual level.

John described death as like being “in a video game” where you you hit a “higher score” each life you live.

“I don’t think that we stop learning. I still think that we are on this quest to continue to evolve,” he said.

“So I don’t feel like we leave this world and escape anything, I feel like we come to this world to learn and then we evolve home, which is the afterlife,to continue to unpack what we just learned in this lifetime. And it’s a constant growth.”

Dealing with people and those they have lost is always a sensitive issue, but John is very well-versed in delivering messages that may be confronting or uncomfortable for his clients.

And when speaking of these particular messages from Spirit, he has one rule: “If I see it, hear it or feel it, I say it,” he said. “If I’m not supposed to, then don’t tell me. So if it falls in my purview, it’s coming out.”

“So I will use that as a gauge, like ‘do they know, do they not know’ this truth; is this a truth you’re going to later find out? Am I planting a seed that could develop later; that they go ‘oh my god’ that’s what that was; or is it: ‘yes, you’re right. We already know that.'”

“It’s not so much that you’re telling [the client], but you’re experiencing the potential truth with them,” John revealed.

So, what’s the most confronting issue he has had to deal with?

“I think if paternity comes in, or health comes in, I think dealing with parents who’ve lost a child who are in that blocked place.

“I think that’s a difficult place to go to confront that to help them to navigate because you know grief does not yield entitlement regardless of who you are.”

And it’s no secret that John has read for some of the most famous families in the world, including the Kardashian’s.

During an earlier episode of the hit show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, John read for Kim, bringing her messages from her late father, Robert.

While it looks like the famous medium is their biggest confidante, it’s far from the truth.

“The way that actually came about, was at one point, she and I shared a publicist,” he revealed. “That’s how it really came through.”

“Lovely family, very very nice, but it’s not like I’m on speed dial and I talk to them all the time.

“There have been a number of celebrities over the years that I’ve worked with and no disrespect to any of them, but it’s not where I feel like I’m best used.”

When we asked about the reading itself, John admitted that he didn’t “remember”.

“I’m going to write a book one day called ‘borrowed thoughts’ and that’s what they feel like. It feels like these are thoughts that come through. The go in and then they go out, and I don’t I don’t recall the events after this, unless they’re recorded.

“So any time I’ve done stuff when it comes to television, they always want to go to the celebrity route,” he admitted.

“But guys, it’s not my audience. People come to me, want to see. They want to see regular people, they want to see themselves.”
