The evolution of Angelina Jolie

Who would have thought that this fresh-faced teenager would one day become one of the most famous women in the world? Once close to her family, Angelina is now estranged from actor father, Jon Voight.

In the early stages of her career, an intimate kiss on the lips with her brother, James Haven at an awards show sparked media speculation of an incestuous relationship in which she strongly denied.

Infamous for her off-screen romances with co-stars, Angelina’s short-lived marriage to second husband Billy Bob Thorton (she was first married to Jonny Lee Miller) was often in the media, with claims they would wear vials of each other’s blood around their necks.

In early 2002, she adopted her first child, Maddox from Cambodia and began to embark on her humanitarian work for world charity organisations.

As a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador she personally helped build huts for newly arrived unaccompanied minors at Lugufu Camp in Tanzania.

As a single mother, Angelina, continues with her duties as a UN Refugee Ambassador — endlessly campaigning and participating in discussions at World Economic Forums.

Angelina makes headlines as she continues to grow her ever expanding family, adopting Zahara (pictured) from Ethiopia and Pax Thien from Vietnam in addition to eldest son Maddox (pictured).

After famously claiming that she would be happy to never have biological children of her own, Angelina gave birth to daughter Shiloh Nouvel with partner, Brad Pitt in 2006.

Again pregnant with rumoured twins, Angelina and Brad still continue to fulfill their charity and red-carpet duties. What else can’t this super-mum do? Check out this slideshow of some of the world’s most remarkable women of our time.
