We can all stop crying that Sophie Monk has disappeared from our TV screens since The Bachelorette wrapped, because NW can confirm that she has officially signed on as the host of Channel Nine’s new dating show Love Island!
NW first broke the news that Channel Nine were hunting Sophie to take on the coveted role, however met road blocks as she was still contracted to rival network TEN.
And now Sophie’s mate has spilled to NW that the ties with TEN have been cut and Sophie’s headed to Spain!
“Soph struggled to get out of her contract after the Bachelorette, but she did it – and good on her!” says a friend of Soph.
“She’s going to kill it as the host!”

The first season of the UK’s hottest dating show is predicted to be a ratings hit, as NW hears that former Married At First Sight stars Sharon Marsh, 32, and Andrew “Jonesy” Jones, 39, have been approached for a place in the cast.
“Shaz and Jonesy were put through the wringer on MAFS,” says NW’s insider. “But Love Island sounded like a more casual way to potentially find a forever mate – and have fun doing so!”
The series is set to air during Australia’s winter – and we can not wait!
