Sia offers to match $100,000 in donations to counter Donald Trump’s immigration order

As global backlash grows against Donald Trump’s controversial executive order on immigration, more and more celebrities are donating money to organisations helping to protect immigrants.

Among those protesting the order, dubbed the ‘Muslim immigrant ban’ is Australian singer Sia who says she’ll match a whopping $100,000 in donations to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to support the not-for-profit’s efforts in protecting LGBTQ rights, as well as immigrants.

Rosie O’Donnell, who’s famously spatted with Trump on multiple occasions, then said she too would match Sia’s offer of $100,000.

A day after Trump’s announcement, a federal judge granted the ACLU’s request to block part of Trump’s order temporarily. The not-for-profit organisation said it was a “victory” against an unconstitutional act that targets Muslims.
