She may have just hosted Farmer Wants A Wife, but Sam Armytage has a farmer of her own in Richard Lavender.
And lucky for fans, Sam doesn’t shy away from sharing intimate insights to her loved up life on her socials.
The former Sunrise host has been absolutely smitten with her husband since they wed in 2020, and it appears they’re living in marital bliss after Sam posted a picture of her man cuddling with her dog, Banjo.

(Credit: Instagram)Sam married Richard in a small intimate ceremony on New Years Eve 2020 on his sprawling 40-hectare property in the stunning NSW Southern Highlands region of Bowral.
Following her wedding, Sam was given a starring role on FWAW to help singles find love with their own farmers and expressed her excitement for her new gig and why she is perfect for the role.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of the show and of country people, and I know first-hand that falling in love with a farmer is just about the most wonderful thing you can do,” the 45-year-old shared in a statement.
Speaking with Who Magazine, Sam admitted there was an “[immediate] connection” with her now-husband.
Of course, the feeling was mutual, with Richard recalling in the same interview that “she had a sparkle in her eye.”

(Credit: Instagram)Since they tied the knot, the equestrian businessman and TV host swapped the city for the Highlands to step away from the small screens for some much-needed humility.
“I don’t think any of us want to do the same thing forever. There’s a lot about television that’s all about you and that’s an awful way to live your life. TV isn’t a place that’s necessarily very healthy,” Sam told Stellar Magazine.
“It’s full of sociopaths and narcissists – it can be a dangerous environment, let me tell you.”

(Credit: Instagram)In the year since moving to the Southern Highlands permanently, Sam has well and truly settled into country life with her farmer husband Richard, sharing sweet snaps from their farm and beloved furry companion Banjo to her Instagram.
In fact, she’s even set up an Instagram for Banjo under the handle @banjoarmytage where her canine has amassed a following of almost 9,000 people from across the globe!
”When I’m really muddy, I no go inside,” Sam wrote on behalf of Banjo as he was banished to the back tray of her ute, presumably because he was dirty from rolling around in some mud.

The labrador has even been given a starring role on FWAW alongside his mum Sam, with behind the scenes production snaps showing the pup sitting patiently at Sam’s feet as she films segments for the smash hit dating show.
