Ryan Reynolds talks daughter’s name and it’s NOT Violet!

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively daughter

Ryan Reynolds has spoken for the first time about his daughter’s name and it looks like everyone got it wrong – her name’s not Violet!

The new dad, who is overjoyed at becoming a father, cleared the air about his daughter’s name who he and wife Blake Lively welcomed last month.

“No that’s not the name,” the star told USA Today after numerous media outlets reported that was her name following her birth.

“I don’t want to get into that but I don’t know where that came from.”

Not long after Ryan and Blake announced the birth of their daughter, a tweet from a staff member at the Westchester Medical Centre claimed the pair had named their daughter Violet.

The tweet from @kimbanksy read: ‘Congrats @blakelively #blakelively glad to have you and baby girl violet in our care.’

While Ryan, who is promoting his new horror-comedy film, The Voices, didn’t reveal her actual name, he did comment on what he would like to call her back in October.

Blake Lively is already talking about baby number two!

“I don’t want a name that’s anything pretentious or, like, Hollywood-y. So I’m going with Excalibur Anaconda Reynolds…that’s if it’s a girl,” he said.

Let’s hope Blake picked their little one’s name!

Meanwhile, the star also revealed that the pair are getting no sleep and have decided against hiring a nanny.

“It’s still so new that it’s hard to conceive being away for more than seven hours at a time. I had to go to Sundance this last week. I was more excited to get a good night’s sleep. It was borderline pornographic for me,” he said.

“I don’t sleep very much. It’s great. It’s wonderful. But my brain is elsewhere.”
