We can’t imagine a world where Robert Pattinson didn’t play brooding vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight series, but the actor has revealed that his extreme method acting almost cost him the role.
“I was so determined to make it so serious,” he revealed to The New York Times.
“I was fighting with everybody in control all the time… to the point where I almost got fired,” he revealed.
The 31-year-old mused that it was his method acting that made him want to delve into the character of Edward, who was written as angst ridden and isolated teen.
But this didn’t help his popularity on set with his agents even forced to fly to the set and straighten him out!
Despite almost getting fired, R-Patz has fond memories of working on the Twilight films.
Afterall it’s where he met and fell in love with Kristen Stewart, 27. Ah #Robsten memories.
“It was an amazing luxury [and] “amazing luck to just have fallen into it with the group of people I worked with on it,” he spilled.
The duo became household names.
Meanwhile, he may be receiving Oscar buzz for his role as a criminal in the new flick Good Time, but Rob has come to terms with the fact that he will always be remembered as Edward Cullen.
“I think one of the best things, basically, about being a bit of a sellout is if you’ve done five movies in a series, you’ve had to accept some responsibility for playing the same character.”
