Ray Meagher calls on Chris Hemsworth to attend the 2018 TV WEEK Logie Awards

The actor hopes to see his former Home and Away co-star at this year’s awards show.

The 2018 TV WEEK Logie Awards are set to take place at The Star on the Gold Coast, in Queensland, on Sunday July 1.
The awards show, which is due to air on the Nine Network and 9Now, is drumming up excitement from fans and nominees alike.
One nominee who's looking forward to the prestigious event is Ray Meagher. The 73-year-old star is nominated for the Most Popular Actor award for his role as Alf Stewart on Home and Away.

When speaking to TV WEEK, Ray said he hopes to see his former co-star Chris Hemsworth at the Logies this year.
"I'm not sure where he's up to at the moment," the actor says. "I saw him at the Australian Open tennis this year and it was great to catch up and have a chat.
"He's just a terrific bloke," Ray continues. "All of that fame and success definitely hasn't gone to his head. He's such a nice, grounded man."
Chris Hemsworth starred as Kim Hyde on Home and Away for three years.
Ray facing stiff competition for the Most Popular Actor Award this year. He'll be competing against Aaron Jeffery (Underbelly Files), Erik Thomson (800 Words), Luke McGregor (Rosehaven) and Rodger Corser (Doctor Doctor).
Ray, who was previously nominated for the same award in 2010 and 2012, also won the Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television in 2010.
Of his first-ever Logies win in 2010, Ray said "These things have never meant much to me over the years, mainly because I've never held one. All of a sudden they seem unbelievably important."
This year, Ray's category will be eligible for the new Live Voting system.
Live Voting will take place from Monday June 25 right up until the end of the red carpet telecast on Sunday July 1 on all 10 Most Popular categories. Find out more about the new system here.
