A chance meeting at a spinal research charity function has caused sparks to fly for swimmer Susie Maroney and quadriplegic Perry Cross.
Perry, the founder of the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation, caught Susie’s eye and the pair kept in touch online for a few months.
It was when they discovered themselves sat side by side at another function later that year that they ‘clicked’ and they have been inseparable ever since according to Daily Mail.
“I was definitely attracted to her but I was blown away to discover she was serious,” admitted Perry.
Not only is the mother-of-three serious about her beau, but she feels her new man is making her “a better person.”

“Just being together I’m probably the happiest I’ve ever been,” Susie revealed in an interview with New Idea. “I’ve found someone I love and I never want to let go of him.”
Perry was paralysed from the neck down during a rugby accident when he was 19 and he has dedicated his life to spinal research. His organisation seeks to cure paralysis.
Maroney became a household name when she was a teenager by becoming the fastest Australian to swim the English channel.
