Australia’s strict international border closures have caused heartbreak for many long distance couples conducting a cross-continental romance, as they have no idea when they might next be able to see their other halves again in person.

And that’s exactly what former Home And Away actress Pia Miller is going through right now.

The 36-year-old Aussie is currently dating 54-year-old American agent Patrick Whitehall, who is based in LA.

When Australia’s lockdown laws were first implemented, Pia was in Sydney and Patrick was overseas in the US. Now the pair are stuck on opposite sides of the world and have no end date on when their separation from each other will be over.

It’s understandably sad and frustrating for Pia, but after several months away from her partner, this week Patrick made a grand romantic gesture to prove to his girlfriend how much he cares about her.

Patrick sent Pia a huge bunch of white roses as a gift to help pass the time.

The bouquet was clearly appreciated by Pia, who uploaded two photos of the gorgeous flowers to her Instagram grid and stories.

She captioned the image “P squared”, referring to her cute couple nickname for herself and Patrick.

While Pia is notoriously private about her personal life, she has posted several couple photos of herself and Patrick on Instagram.

The duo were first linked in May last year, and Patrick made his first appearance on Pia’s Instagram feed in December, when she posted a sweet couple pic of herself and her beau while on holiday in Paris.

On Instagram, the star has been open with her followers about her relationship status, frequently posting photos of herself and her beau.

Earlier this year, Pia posted an old photo of herself speaking into a telephone, with the caption: “That long distance love 📞”.

In response to a fan who commented “Keeping him happy” on her post, Pia wrote: “Keeping each other sane…! So far away though 😔💔”.

Pia, who split from her former fiancé Tyson Mullane last year, is clearly head over heels for Patrick and now divides her time between the US and her home country.

“I go back an forth between LA and Australia,” Pia told Now To Love in March.

Pia remained coy when asked by Now To Love how she and Patrick were handling their long-distance relationship.

While she said she’d prefer not to elaborate on her personal life, Pia said she has “friends and family that live all over the world…let’s just say FaceTime has really gotten a run for its money recently!”

Patrick is the CEO of Hollywood talent agency WME.

The agency boasts a number of A-list clients including Matt Damon, Hugh Jackman and Ben Affleck.

Pia, has two children, Isiah, 19, and Lennox, from her previous relationship with AFL star Brad Miller.

The pair married in 2007, but split in 2015.

Two years later in 2017, she got engaged to her partner of 18 months, Aussie photographer Tyson Mullane.

But last year, the pair called it quits, and Pia has deleted all traces of Tyson from her Instagram page.

She famously played police officer Katarina Chapman on Home And Away from 2015-2017.
