Olympian Ryan Lochte has plenty to celebrate right now – he became engaged to his stunning Playboy model girlfriend Kayla Rae this weekend.
The pair, who met in a nightclub, have been dating since January this year.
The couple shared adorable snaps on social media following the proposal, and their fans were quick to congratulate them.
“Memories forever!!! #thelochtes #LA”, Ryan wrote, while Kayla shared a similar image with the caption “Speechless. Absolutely beautiful. So in love with YOU.”
A source told Entertainment Weekly: “On Sunday, Lochte surprised his bride to be with a private helicopter tour of Los Angeles which culminated with a sunset proposal on a Malibu, California mountaintop overlooking the Pacific Ocean.”
“Lochte proposed with a custom designed platinum ring featuring a Radiant cut diamond. The couple has yet to set a wedding date.”

Ryan, who is currently starring in the US series of Dancing With The Stars, won gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics for his swimming.
However, he generated international controversy when he falsely claimed that he and three other American swimmers had been pulled over and robbed by armed robbers with police badges while in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
He was charged for falsely reporting a crime and given a 10 month swimming suspension.

Since the incident, Ryan has turned a corner and won the public around again – and he believes that Kayla’s support during his turbulent year has made their relationship stronger:
“When I realised this was ‘the one’ was when she stuck behind me through this,” Lochte explained during a chat on USA Today.
“She still loves me and she’s still right there with me.”
