Nicole Kidman slammed for thanking just two of her four children in Emmys speech

The otherwise “perfect” speech received a lot of praise.

Nicole Kidman delivered a powerful acceptance speech after winning her first Emmy on Sunday night. She shone a light on domestic abuse and tearfully thanked those closest to her for their support.

But the speech has raised eyebrows not for what was mentioned, but what wasn’t

“I have a huge artistic family who supported me throughout all my ups and downs,” she said. “You have been so loyal to me throughout my whole life thank you for that.”

“I am also a mother and a wife. I have two little girls, Sunny and Faith,” Kidman said, in reference to her children with Keith Urban. “This is yours. I want my little girls to have this on their shelf and to look at it and go, ‘Every time my mama didn’t put me to bed, it’s because of this. I got something!’ “

While the speech lovingly referenced the actress’s daughters with husband Keith Urban, it failed to acknowledge her two other children — Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22 — whom she adopted with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise.

Of course, the oversight sent social media into a tizzy as viewers noticed the omission with Google sleuths suggesting it was because of Isabella and Connor’s ongoing connection with the Church of Scientology:

Speaking with TV WEEK, the 50-year-old Aussie-native recently opened up about her family life.

“My big passion is just my family; my love,” Nicole said.

“My daughter said to me, “You and Daddy kiss all the time.” I thought, “That’s such a fantastic thing for your daughter to say to you.” And that’s my passion.”

“I know it’s a simple answer, but I’m deeply passionate about raising my children and being with my husband.”

Nicole and her husband Keith Urban recently celebrated 11 years of marriage.

“To have an 11-year anniversary and still be so much in love as a man and a woman, that is my solace,” Nicole admitted. “That’s where I get so much of my comfort and my nourishment and energy
from.”

She’s very aware of how lucky she is and doesn’t take her happiness for granted.

“I’ve not had it [in the past], so I know what it’s like not to have it,” she said.
