Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have been giving us a plethora of #couplegoals moments since they got married in 2006.
From their super-cute Facebook Live singalongs to their loved-up dedications to each other on Instagram, it appears that Nic and Keith are in it for the long, long haul (and in Tinseltown, when there are more divorces papers being served than champagne at the famous Beverly Hills Hotel, this is a big deal).
But don't think their relationship is any different to the ones we hold near and dear to our own hearts, with Nic, 51, and 50-year-old Keith having endured their fair share of troubled times. Almost immediately after their wedding, Keith checked into rehab for alcohol addiction – something that the pair say that while it was an unimaginably difficult time, it also brough the two closer. She said early on that she wanted to be brave with me. I feel there was something else at work, bringing us together and then just continuing to watch over us," Keith says.
But what about the other years of their 12-year marriage? With Nicole filming all over the world at any given time, and Keith rocking out on country-music stages in between, what's the secret to making their marriage work?
Well, as the Big Little Lies actress has revealed in a new interview, it all comes down to keeping their romance old-fashioned – namely, not texting each other and instead talking on the phone when they're away from one another.
"That is so not our relationship," Nic said at Create & Cultivate and Neutrogena Everyday Is A Sunday panel. She also said that she and Keith opt for "voice to voice and skin to skin" interactions when keeping in touch, and will rush to jump on last-minute flights if they begin missing each other while their away.
"The reason it started at the beginning was because I didn't know how to text [laughs] and it just kind of worked for us," she said.
"We talk all the time and we FaceTime but we just don't text because I feel like texting can be misrepresentative at times. And I've had the thing where I reread texts and I'm like, 'What does that mean?' and then read it to somebody and go 'Can you interpret that?' I don't want that between my lover and I."
Personally, we don't know how we'd go in a relationship with no texting or typing; imagine dialling up your S.O for a D&M every time you needed to tell them to pick up a loaf of bread on the way home?
Additionally, another tip from Nic about making marriages last? Put simply, just having "fun together" and enjoying each other's company.
"If there is one person I can hang out with, it's him and the girls and that's it. That's so much enough for me," she continues.
"We'll get on planes and fly overnight rather than have a night apart. We will do anything to make it work. Jetlag is always a challenge though!"
Here's to another 12-plus years of "celestial, synergised soul-dancing" for Nicole and Keith!
