According to reports, the 72-year-old slipped and fell while he was exiting a taxi in Bangkok.

“I’m a walking disaster. I’m with the doctors now, they’re trying to put everything back together,” the star quipped in his trademark humour.

Despite the accident, the former Countdown host was in good spirits.

“I’m not sure what it was, but I slipped on something on the ground and fell on the footpath, but I’m OK,” he said.

Molly jetted to Thailand to skip the buzz with the impending Channel 7 mini-series about his life, which is aptly named Molly.

“Even I’m sick of seeing Molly,” he said in the lead up to the show.

In December, 2011 the journalist, who has interviewed some of the biggest stars in the world, was admitted to the Alfred Hospital with severe head injuries after falling off a ladder in his Melbourne home.

Molly finally regained consciousness in January 2012, before heading to a rehabilitation centre to complete his recovery.

“My life changed forever when I fell off the roof on December 15 last year. I can’t say my life flashed before my eyes, but I have had plenty of time to reflect in the past few weeks, and I realise just how lucky I am,” he has since said of his horrifying accident.

Last year Molly was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame for his contributions to the music industry.
