Once upon a time, Byron Bay was Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s happy place, with the pair making many memories in the NSW coastal town during their 10-year on-off relationship.
But fast-forward to post-divorce, and Byron has become a battleground for the sparring former spouses.
Fuelled with anger after seeing Liam, 30, go public with his stunning new girlfriend Gabriella Brooks, 21, NW hears that Miley is on her way Down Under and is plotting a “random run-in” with Liam – and she’s keeping her current squeeze Cody Simpson in the dark.
“Miley’s upping her game on Operation: Torture Liam,” spills an insider.
“She’s told Cody she’s treating them to a trip to the Gold Coast to see his family and so she can meet his friends. She’s then going to suggest they head down to Byron for an impromptu long weekend.”
Once there, Miley, 27, plans on hitting up the old haunts she and Liam frequented in the hopes of flaunting her red-hot romance with Cody, 23, in his face.

While Miley has been hot and heavy with Cody since they hooked-up in October, Liam is never far from her mind. Deep down everything still revolves around him and Miley expected to be the triumphant one out of the break-up.
“She thought dating Cody would bring Liam running back to her,” says the source.

“But rather than let her games get a rise out of him, Liam was the bigger man,” says the mole.
“He’s content living by the beach with a beautiful girlfriend. It’s the last thing Miley wanted and she’s seething big time.”
