First Lady Michelle reveals what the atmosphere was like in the Obama household the night Trump was elected.

It was the night that changed the course of history forever, but Michelle Obama was fast asleep as Donald Trump got elected as America’s 45th President.

In a joint interview with her husband President Barack Obama, the First Lady told People, “I went to bed.”

“I don’t like to watch the political discourse; I never have.”

Adding of her husband, “I barely did with him.”

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are preparing to leave the White House.

In their eight years, the pair have wowed the world thanks to their kind nature. The couple meeting the future King, little Prince George.

The 52-year-old Chicago-born lawyer was especially vocal about her support for the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

In fact, the mum-of-two voiced her concerns, vigorously, about the dangers of the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, though she never named him.

In July she moved not only Americans, but people across the globe with her impassioned speech, “When they go low, we go high,” delivered at the Democratic National Convention.

“Anything that I felt about the election I said and I stand by,” she admitted.

“Once you do what you can do, then the rest is easy. It was in the hands of the American people.”

Adding, “This is our democracy, and this is how it works.”

“We are ready to work with the next administration and make sure they are as successful as they can be. Because that’s what’s best for this country.”

The Obamas are so proud of their daughters Malia, 18, and 15-year-old Sasha.

During the couple’s candid and final interview with the publication, the Obamas shared how they’re dealing with the family vacating the White House.

“They’re ready to get out, just out from their parents’ house,” Barack admitted about his two girls Malia, 18, and 15-year-old Sasha.

“The fact that their parents’ house is the White House may add to it. But Malia’s going off to college,” he said about his eldest, who is heading to Harvard.

“She’s a grown woman.”

But his wife seems to have a different idea, gushing, “She’s still a baby!”
