To mark the anniversary of his passing, his son Prince Jackson has sworn to keep the memory of his father alive. It’s a promise shared by Michael’s fans, who will pay their respects this week by placing flowers on his grave in Los Angeles.
The 17-year-old, who was just 12 when the self-proclaimed King of Pop died of an overdose at age 50 – has remembered his father as a loving and nurturing dad who was devoted to him and his siblings, sister Paris, 16, and brother Blanket, 12.
“We want to keep my dad’s legend alive,” the teenager toldThe Sunnewspaper.
“He was the best father anybody could have. He raised us the right way and there is nothing anyone can do to make us forget about him.”
The well-spoken youngster also spoke of Michael’s kindness towards others.
“He was always concerned about humanity. He helped many charities. In his songs his message was simple – love. We will continue to spread his message,” he added.
Just like his father, Prince hopes to have a career in entertainment but as a director behind the scenes. But first he needs to learn the ropes.
“I want to learn my craft and experience being in TV shows and possibly movies before I even consider going behind the camera.”
Since his untimely death in June 2009, it’s been reported that Michael’s fortunes continue to thrive.

While some of the earnings are said to go towards supporting his three children, who live with their grandmother in Calabasas, the rest is being used to cover debts left behind by the megastar.
