Michael and Kyly Clarke welcome first child

Congratulations on the arrival of baby Clarke!

Michael and Kyly Clarke have welcomed their first child into the world – a baby girl.

Karl Stefanovic confirmed the news on the Today Show on Tuesday morning, making the birth an early arrival for the couple (the Clarke’s are yet to publicly announced the news).

On Sunday the pair spoke The Daily Telegraph about the risk of the cricketer being on the water – racing in the Sydney to Hobart – during the birth, with Kyly not due for another month.

“It should arrive a bit earlier,” Clarke told The Tele, reportedly smiling.

“Fingers crossed Santa is good to us and the baby comes just before (Christmas). Kyly is very supportive of this decision though and she really wants me to do the race and is understanding of my reasons for doing it. We’re not thinking about a plan B just yet.”

The former Australian cricket captain retired in August at 34-years-old, with the couple announcing the pregnancy in July via Instagram.

“Michael and I are extremely ecstatic to announce that we are expecting our first child,” Kyly posted.

“Can’t wait to meet baby Clarke.”

Well, the day has finally arrived. Congratulations!
