Megan Gale and her AFL boyfriend Shaun Hampson have announced the birth of their son, River, born yesterday afternoon.

Today Gale revealed the good news with a picture post of the threesome’s intertwined hands on her Instagram account.

“Our precious little 3.87kg (8.5 pound) man came into the world yesterday on the 13th of May 2014 at 4.47pm,” Gale wrote alongside the picture.

“Needless to say Shaun and I are completely smitten with him and we’re beyond blessed to have such a healthy baby.

“Words can’t even come close to describing how we’re feeling right now and more so, how it felt to see, hear, hold and meet this beautiful soul for the first time.

“We love you little man and are SO thrilled to be your parents.”

The model shared this intimate image on her social media to announce the birth of her son.

The 38-year-old revealed that her journey to conception was not easy. “We tried not to get disenchanted by the fact that it didn’t happen immediately. Everyone says stress hinders the process, so while I was very mindful of my age, I tried to be optimistic,” Gale told WHO.

Despite Gale being 13 years older than boyfriend Shaun Hampson she says the gap is no big deal for the pair. “The age difference does not bother us at all,” Gale told The Weekly. “We make jokes about it.” (Photography by Steven Chee.
