Margot Robbie looks unrecognisable on set of Suicide Squad

She’s Australia’s sweetheart in the acting world, with her blue eyes, blonde locks and incredible talent debuting in Hollywood only years ago.

But Queensland-born Margot Robbie has come a long way from her days on Neighbours, as she steps into the black and white pumps of supervillian Harley Quinn on the set of Suicide Squad.

The 24-year old recently shot the first scenes on the Toronto set of the DC Comics film.

Donning blonde piggy-tails with blue and pink dyed ends, and a t-shirt saying “Daddy’s Little Monster” Robbie held a baseball bat as she strutted on the street.

Harley Quinn, who plays The Joker’s love interest, is a supervillian in the Suicide Squad, a group released from imprisonment on clemency by a secret government agency to execute a black ops mission.

Jared Leto is the first actor to play The Joker since Heather Ledger starred in the role.

Suicide Squad director, David Ayer tweeted a picture of Robbie with the cast captioned: “Task Force X assembled and ready. #SuicideSquad”

Margot Robbie looked the part on set, baseball bat in hand wearing in red and blue hot pants.

Looking barely recognisable, the role is unlike any she’s played before.

And shows the Australian sweetheart’s versatility, as she dons a t-shirt saying ‘Daddy’s little Monster.”

Will Smith, who was Robbie’s co-star in the last movie she starred in, Focus, is also a member of Task Force X in Suicide Squad.

Playing The Joker’s love interest, Robbie wore a jacket with “Property of The Joker” written on her back.
