Lisa Curry has announced she is dedicating her new memoir to her beloved mother Pat, who tragically passed away two weeks ago.
The Olympian took to Instagram to reveal her highly-anticipated memoir, titled Lisa, A memoir – 60 years of life, love & loss, will hit book stands on May 4.
Lisa revealed that sadly, Pat never got to the chance to read the finished copy.

(Image: Instagram)“My mum saw the book, contributed to the book but sadly didn’t get to read it. Dedicated to you mum 😞🥰👼,” Lisa wrote on Instagram.
“I have every intention of living a long happy life but if for some reason I don’t, my story so far has been told. And I am very grateful.”
The 59-year-old and author Ellen Whinnett “worked tirelessly at 6am, 10pm, all day, every day and all weekends” to finish the book in time for Mother’s Day.
“If it wasn’t for their gentle and supportive persuasion and persistence, this book would not even have happened,” Lisa said.
“They covered for me in my days and weeks of sadness, and helped me unravel the 60 years of my life, 5 decades of swimming and career and of course the worst and hardest chapter of all that no parent should ever have to write 😞,” she added, referring to the tragic death of her daughter Jaimi Lee Kenny.
“I have every intention of living a long happy life but if for some reason I don’t, my story so far has been told. And I am very grateful.”
The happy announcement of Lisa’s memoir comes amid a dark time for the Curry/Kenny family.
A week after Pat’s death, Lisa honoured her late mother, who died on March 3, as well as her daughter Jaimi, who died in 2020.
Sharing a photo of the two women she loved most, Lisa called them her “bookends” and said that her “angels are now together” following Pat’s funeral.
Continuing her emotional caption, the grandmother wrote: “Grief changes you. It’s like living two different lives, one is where you soldier on and get on with it, the other is where you cry so much you have no more tears left, your heart silently aching in pain.
“What I do know is, that both Jaimi and mum would want all of us to be happy. So that’s what we shall do.”
The message of hope despite heartache was accompanied by some gentle wisdom from Lisa, who urged her friends, family and followers to call their mums if they’re lucky enough to still have them around.
She also shared a collection of photos from the memorial service, as well as pictures of a bird who joined the family in the barn where they remembered Pat’s life.
