Rehab should be the kind of place where patients leave their egos at the door – unless you’re Lindsay Lohan.
Legendary soul diva, Chaka Khan, who was staying at Cliffside Malibu treatment centre when Lilo checked in, was reportedly less than impressed by the troubled star’s behaviour.
“Chaka was really cool about everything at Cliffside, but Lindsay just pushed all of her buttons,” a former patient tells Radar.
“Lindsay was just doing stupid stuff for attention, so Chaka told her she was childish and told her to grow up. She never lost it, but started yelling at Lindsay.”
Apparently things got so bad between the two stars that Chaka often told other patients she “hated” Lindsay. Schedules were changed so they didn’t have to spend time together, but eventually the I’m Every Woman hit maker left the facility early.
“Chaka told me she was leaving early because she couldn’t stand Lindsay,” the source added.
Chaka has since posted a message on her website putting a more positive spin on the story, and stating that she prays for Lindsay’s “wellbeing”.
“To choose to do what is necessary to better one’s self is commendable. I applaud Lindsay Lohan for doing the work. She is a lovely young lady and I pray for her wellbeing,” the post reads.
Sixty-year-old Chaka had admitted herself to rehab to deal with her use of prescription medications, which became a problem after she had knee surgery, while Lindsay, 27, was ordered into the facility after numerous drug and alcohol related court appearances.
The former child star has vowed to turn her life around and leave her partying lifestyle behind.
