Notoriously private actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio has finally opened up about becoming a father one day.

Fresh from his recent breakup from model girlfriend Kelly Rohrbach, the 41-year-old actor confessed in the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine kids aren’t off the cards.

“Do you mean do I want to bring children into a world like this?” the bachelor said. “If it happens, it happens.”

The four-time Oscar nominee – who has dated a bevy of beautiful models and actresses over the past few decades – added, “I’d prefer not to get into specifics about it, just because then it becomes something that is misquoted. But, yeah.”

Earlier in the week Leo scored the Best Actor Golden Globe for his role in the revenge epic The Revenant and on Thursday, he’ll finally find out if he’s scored an Oscar nomination when the Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs, John Krasinski, Guillermo Del Toro, and Ang Lee band together to announce all the nominations for the 88th Academy Awards.

After five snubs by the Academy, will this be sixth time lucky for the actor?

“Sure, everyone likes to be recognised, but that’s out of my hands – other people control those things. I will say it would help the film, bring it to more people,” the star mused of the upcoming Oscars.
