Leonardo DiCaprio hosts star studded bash in Saint-Tropez

And it wouldn't be a party without a supermodel (or twelve).

While we’re still not sure if it was a party disguised as a fundraiser, or a fundraiser disguised as a party, but we know one thing for sure: the dress code was “sheer.”

Professional Hollywood socialiser, Leonardo DiCaprio, hosted ‘The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation 2nd Annual Saint-Tropez Gala’ last night in France, where supermodels, actors, singer, Princes, Duchesses and the odd Hollywood legend came to play.

Hosting a cocktail party and a gala for the event, which raised more than $40 million for environmental preservation, stars schmoozed upon the idyllic cobblestones and drank expensive champagne.

And, of course, you don’t turn up to a party hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio in a little cocktail dress.

Ladies took this opportunity to dress to the nines, with supermodels swanning in wisps of Versace Couture, dripping with diamonds, and men suiting up in Armani and Tom Ford.

Though looking through the pictures we can’t help but wonder what actually happens at these parties, with many women arriving in, well, undies and a sheer gown.

At the gala, guests were able to bid on art pieces (including a Monet portrait, drawings by Picasso, and sculptures by Rodin, Takashi Murakami and Frank Stella), Leonardo’s personal items (including a vintage Rolex, and two original Andy Warhols), movie set treasures (like an original life vest from Titanic, cuff links from The Great Gatsby, and a role in an upcoming DiCaprio movie) a private concert with Elton John (which went for $2 million) and an artic expedition led by Prince Albert of Monaco.

Among the attendees were John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen, Sylvester Stallone, Kate Hudson, Naomi Campbell, Goldie Hawn, Joan Collins, Heidi Klum, Orlando Bloom, Petra Nemcova, Michelle Rodriguez, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Albert of Monaco.

Supermodels came out to play.

Michelle Rodriguez definitely turned heads at the gala with her sheer number.

Umm.. We are checking with the Fashion Team if black briefs are considered leggings these days.

Irina Shayk went the more ‘covered up’ way with Versace Atelier.

Peta Nemcova went with an emerald green Elie Saab that she’s worn before.

Kate Hudson looked chic in black.

Sarah Ferguson and Carolina Parson.

Leonardo, in all his bearded glory, was the MC for the night.

Sylvester Stallone and Elton John were also in attendance.

As was Joan Collins.

John Legend gave an after-party performance following the gala.

Proving that age is just a number, Naomi Campbell sizzled in her sheer black dress.

Looking very covered up in comparison Marion Cotillard, wore Erdem for the event.
