Weekend Today host Leila McKinnon and her husband, Nine boss David Gyngell, welcomed their second child today.
“They are well and happy, and we’re thrilled for them,” a Nine spokeswoman confirmed. “It’s a little girl.”
The news was also confirmed by Nine’s The Today Show via Twitter.
“Congratulations to @leilamckinnon who has just had a little girl. All is well. Wishing you the best!” the team tweeted.
The little one’s arrival is a welcome addition to their family.
The high-profile pair first became parents to son Teddy in October 2012 following a nine-year battle to fall pregnant, including years of IVF treatment.
“There were a couple of times when we thought we had come to the end of the road and we might look at other options,” Leila told The Australian Women’s Weekly.
“But somehow we always managed to see through to find another way, a little more hope.”
Leila McKinnon is joined by fellow mums, Deb Knight and Amber Sherlock on Leila’s last day for a delightful baby shower this morning.
