At six months pregnant, it takes a lot for me to break my 7pm curfew these days.
And while most nights you'll usually find me curled up on the couch struggling to keep my eyes open during the marathon episodes of Married At First Sight, on Tuesday night I did something very out of character.
I attended a concert!
That started at 9pm!
On a school night!
Because if there's anyone I'd feel exhausted for for the rest of the week, it's the one and only Kylie Minogue.
The living legend is currently Down Under for her Golden tour, which is an epic round-up of the star's hits from over the decades, and kicked things off with her first show at the ICC Theatre in Sydney on March 5th.
The best thing about Kylie is that she understands her audience innately and gives the people what they want!
Our Kylie may be the queen of reinvention, most recently celebrating the success of her country-inspired ARIA number one album Golden, but she'll never be too cool to roll out her classic pop bangers.
And on Tuesday night, that's exactly what she did by delivering a perfectly curated set-list that featured favourites like Can't Get You Out Of My Head, Spinning Around, The Loco-Motion and Love At First Sight, which fit seamlessly alongside her newer tracks such as Dancing and Stop Me From Falling from her Golden album.
It may have been the hormones but I couldn't help but well up when she gave a special shout-out to her beloved dad, who was in the crowd on the night, before she belted out Shelby '68, which is a song she wrote for him.
But it was when the Grammy award-winner performed a spine-tingling rendition of the '80s anthem Especially For You that I absolutely lost it. All that was missing was her Neighbours co-star Jason Donovan but that didn't stop the audience from participating in a mass karaoke session.
