The Block fan favourites Kyal and Kara Demmrich have announced the birth of their baby – a boy, named Ziya Christopher.

The new parents shared a hospital selfie on social media, and Kyal was quick to gush about his “amazing” wife Kara.

“Introducing our beautiful baby boy Ziya Christopher Demmrich. Born 16/10/16 at 7:56pm. 51cm. 8.5 pounds. Thank you so much to Dr Peta Skilbeck @intuitionprivate for assisting in the birth we’d hoped for! Kara was nothing short of amazing. I’m still buzzing from helping guide our baby out!” He penned.

“It just feels like a dream. So lucky and blessed to have watched this miracle happen before my eyes! Thanks to all those lovely people who have sent us messages leading up to the birth. #kyalandkara x”

The couple rose to fame on The Block’s eighth season in 2014, which was dubbed Fans v Faves.

Kara put her physiotherapist career on hold after they were selected for the series, which saw them go head-to-head against Sky High stars Alisa and Lysandra Fraser and season five’s Brad Cranfield and Dale Vine .

They have been married for eight years, and have now launched a career in renovations, currently working together on Diverse Construct.

The pair announced their pregnancy in April, and since then have been keeping fans updated with adorable snaps on social media.

In July, Kara shared a frank admission with her 124,000 followers, telling them that she was stuck between being super excited about the impending arrival of their bub, to completely “freaking out.”

She also recently admitted to feeling uncomfortable at first with her changing body, although she admitted that she overcame her initial worries and was able to fully enjoy pregnancy.

And we’re sure her new little man will bring her plenty of joy!
