Kim Kardashian’s concierge during Paris robbery breaks his silence, says hotel had little security

There was no real security at all.

The concierge who says he was there the night Kim Kardashian West was dragged from her Paris hotel bed then gaged and robbed is blaming the luxury hotel where the burglary took place saying it had “no real security at all.”

Just two weeks after a gang of five masked thieves stole a reported $11 million worth of jewels and money from the reality star the Hôtel de Pourtalès night watchman, identified only as Abdulrahman, has broken his silence to the Daily Mail about the evening he was handcuffed along with Kim in her hotel suite.

“There was no real security at all. It’s a choice. The hotel doesn’t mind about security,” Abdulrahman told the Mail Online. “We told them years and years before, ‘You have to make a camera, you have to put [in place] a security process, about keys.’ Nothing was locked, there was no proper security there.”

In the days after the robbery a usually glam Kim opted for a white hoodie over a cap that covered her face, jeans and casual sneakers.

The 39-year-old hotel worker recalled of being forced at gunpoint to Kim’s apartment where he says the ill-prepared robbers, who dressed as police officers, forced him to act as their interpreter for 30 minutes as English speaking Kardashian was grilled about the whereabouts of money and precious belongings.

“I saw police [uniforms], the hats, also the police jackets, with reflective badges, like the police have. I told them to open it because it was open, and he asked, with gestures, he made me come to open the door. So I came to open it and just when I opened it, he grabbed me and handcuffed me,” the hotel worker explained.

“In the first seconds, I thought they were policemen making an intervention. I told them, ‘I’m working here, what is wrong?’ After that, he questioned me, ‘Where is the security video?’ At that time, I said, ‘Sh-t, it’s a robbery.'”

“Immediately afterwards, I was very angry, and the first one I blamed was the hotel,” Abdulrahman says. “They are responsible, I think, and I still blame them now.”

Abdulrahman, who is an Algerian working at the Paris hotel to pay for his PHD studies, is said to have provided the Daily Mail with a 2010 email where he pointed out some security issues.

“I told the hotel years ago, you need better security and they didn’t mind,” he said. But “nobody cared.”

After the crime the father of one said he was furious at the establishment and told them he held them responsible.

“I told them, ‘Look what you did! What I told you for six years?’ Security cameras and other things are meant for days like today, to prevent these things from happening,” he says. “If you have good guards, electronic systems to lock the doors, it can be possible to secure the hotel.”

He added: “One day, someone might be killed. That is more important than a robbery of rocks and metal.”

CCTV footage captured the thieves in their push bike getaway.

Kim felt safe without her bodyguard at the No Address Hotel, who accompanied sister Kourtney on a night out when the attack occurred.

Abdulrahman was reportedly described by one of his co-workers as a “loyal, hardworking and extremely intelligent employee,” but he has left the hotel and gone back to Algeria with his family to recover from the trauma of that night.

The night watchman said he did fear he might be killed along with Kim because he alleges the 35-year-old was screaming and the robbers couldn’t understand her. He told of how he pleaded with one of the armed and agitated assailants not to harm her.

“I told him, I ask you, don’t hurt her. I repeated it,” Abdulrahman said. “He told me, don’t worry, we are here for money. I repeated another time, please don’t hurt her.”

But the mother-of-two was understandable hysterical and allegedly said, ‘I have family and babies.’

“I told her, me to. I have one son. And she began to scream again,” said Abdulrahman. “That’s why he put the tape on her mouth. A long piece of tape, all the way round her head.”

Reports Kim will significantly reduce her public presence.

Kim reportedly was left alone in her hotel on the night of October 3 while her body guard Pascal Duvier was at a nightclub some 3 kilometres away protecting two of her sisters during raid.

After the robbery Abdulrahman told the Daily Mail he also acted as Kim’s interpreter while she gave her initial statements to police.

“I saw Kim a lot then,” he said. “When she left, she hugged me and I told her, the most important thing is that we are safe and we are alive.”

The star arrived back in the New York hours after the terrifying ordeal.

Despite all the security concerns the Daily Mail claims in the same report that days after the event one if its journalists “tried the same security code at the front door and found that it had still not been changed.”

Kim remains in hiding since the incident and the normally ostentatious social media star has yet to post anything online.

Kim’s sister Khloe Kardashian has opened up about her older sibling’s emotional state last week during an appearance on Ellen.

“She’s not doing that well. It’s incredibly traumatic what happened to her, but our family is super close and great and we’ll get through it together,” Khloe said.

“We do appreciate all of your guys’ love and support. It will take time. It was horrible what happened to her.”

Kim is worried for the safety of her family.

A week ago Kim’s momanger Kris Jenner also shared a post that seemed to comment on her daughter’s horrific ordeal.

“Every morning is a reminder of how blessed we are,” she posted on Instagram. “Today I am grateful for my family, who I love more than words can explain. Count your blessings, be grateful always, and cherish every moment you spend with your loved ones.”

Kim has reportedly cancelled any public appearances and her family has helped step in and create content for her Kim Kardashian West official app.
