The 61-year-old actor and his wife Kayte Grammer welcomed their third child together, but it is actually baby number seven for Kelsey.
And it’s a healthy baby boy, weighing seven pounds. Talk about a lucky number!
The couple have decided to name their son, born on November 14, Auden James Ellis Grammer.
A representative for the pair confirmed the news to People magazine.
“Both mother and son are doing great,” the rep said.
And both Kayte and Kelsey have a touching story as to why they chose the name.
“The name was chosen to honor the great poet W.H. Auden, and James is after another great poet and singer James Taylor — two of our favorites,” the couple said in a statement.
“Ellis’ is all in the family, though: It was Grammer’s maternal great-grandfather’s name,” the Grammers added.
“He was a colorful character, to say the least, and we wanted to give the name a second chance,” they said.
They already have Kelsey Gabriel Elias, 2, and Faith Evangeline Elisa, 4. The actor also has four children from previous relationships: daughter Spencer, 32, from his marriage to Doreen Alderman; Greer, 24, from his relationship with Barrie Buckner; and daughter Mason Olivia, 14, and son Jude Gordon, 12, from his 13-year marriage to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer.
The star is also a grandfather with Spencer having a two-year-old son, Emmett.
