Almost four years since they tied the knot Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding breakfast menu has finally been revealed as a copy goes under auction.

It seems William and Kate treated 300 of their nearest and dearest to a lavish selection of marinated salmon, crab, langoustines and organic lamb after their 2011 nuptials which were held in Westminster Abbey.

While guests included Prince Harry, Prince Charles and the Middletons this part of the ceremony is completely private so the menu had never been seen until now.

It has been photographed alongside other auction items including a rare signed photograph of Queen Victoria and her three future kings and a telegram from the Queen to the midwife who delivered Prince Charles.

The items are for sale as part of a collection of royal memorabilia spanning 200 years going under the hammer at Reeman Dansie Auctioneers in Colchester next Tuesday.

Kate and William’s breakfast menu was considered somewhat low key in comparison to other royal feasts but nonetheless their guests were treated to only the finest food, including ingredients from Prince Charles’ estate of Highgrove which is celebrated for its innovative and sustainable farming.

And although it may not be a traditional breakfast food, the sweet treat of Berkshire honey ice cream included on the menu was a nod to the Kate’s home country.

The menu is estimated to fetch $600 – $1000 but could go for much much more after a slice of William and Kate’s wedding cake sold for a staggering $7,500 (£5,000) in Beverly Hills in December 2014.

Kate and William were married in front of 1,900 guests inside Westminster Abbey on Friday April 29.

They invited just 650 back to Buckingham Palace after the ceremony for a canape reception where the bride changed from the lace gown by McQueen designer Sarah Burton into a slinkier satin gown with a diamanté waistband for the evening meal and party.

The royal duo welcomed their first child, Prince George, in 2013 and are now expecting their second child in April.

Also going to auction is a handwritten love letter from Prince Edward of Wales, later Edward VIII, to his mistress, Mrs Freda Dudley Ward with an envelope bearing his red wax seal.

Another menu from a royal feast held in 1945.

A sample of white satin for the coronation gown of Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother, included in a letter to the Royal Dress Maker, Madame Handley Seymour regarding the making of the gown.
