EXCLUSIVE: Karl Stefanovic’s three children did NOT attend his wedding ceremony to Jasmine Yarbrough

Today presenter Karl Stefanovic wanted nothing more than for his three children to watch him marry Jasmine Yarbrough.

But despite son Jackson, 19, daughter Ava, 13, and younger son River, 12, who he shares with ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn, flying from Sydney to San Jose del Cabo in Mexico for the lavish celebrations, Woman’s Day can exclusively confirm they did not attend the wedding ceremony, which was held at the luxurious One&Only Palmilla resort over the weekend.

As Karl, 44, exchanged vows with shoe designer Jasmine, 34, a source tells us Karl’s three kids were “seen playing in the pool.”

“They had already spent the entire day in the pool and not a part of the wedding proceedings,” the insider reveals.

Later in the evening, Jackson and his girlfriend Anna made an appearance at the outdoors beach reception for about 15 minutes.

“They paid their respects and wished Karl their congratulations before returning to the family villa to look after River, who did not attend either the ceremony or the reception,” the source explains.

Karl’s teenage daughter Ava did not attend the ceremony but went to the reception and was seen dancing and enjoying herself.

During Karl’s speech, a second source tells us: “Karl mentioned his daughter in the speech, but no other kid. He spoke about Jasmine’s connection with her.”

Woman’s Day has reached out to Jasmine’s publicist.

Despite his children skipping the wedding ceremony, Woman’s Day understands Karl’s new wife Jasmine is determined to build bridges and mend his fractured relationship with eldest son Jackson.

Not only has she helped bring Karl and Jackson closer, but the newly minted stepmum insisted the three children accompany her and Karl on their five-day Aspen honeymoon.

Sources say Karl and Jackson have long had a “difficult relationship”, but things escalated when Karl split from the kids’ mum Cassandra Thorburn in September 2016.

In March this year, Jackson didn’t attend Karl and Jasmine’s commitment ceremony in Sydney’s Palm Beach, as he was away in Europe on a gap year adventure.

A month later, he changed his Instagram handle from “Jackson Stefanovic” to “Jackson Thorburn”.

“It was such an ugly split between Karl and Cassandra, and Jasmine has a lot of work to do to mend some of the stuff that’s gone down,” says the source.

Here’s hoping some quality time together in Aspen can help the family put the past behind them.
