She's open and opinionated about everything when she's behind the radio mic, and now Jackie "O" Henderson is stepping into the spotlight to share her struggles with weight.
Today, the radio superstar has announced she's joining the WW (formerly Weight Watchers) team as a WW Ambassador, with the mother-of-one candidly revealing her struggles in balancing a busy lifestyle, early morning work and motherhood during the pandemic.
Forking out $300 a week on takeaways, Jackie admits she's ballooned to the "biggest she's ever been."
"I realised I'd stopped wanting to leave the house and was avoiding social outings because I just didn't feel well, motivated or confident anymore," the 46-year-old explains.
"It can be a challenge to set a good standard for the day when you're up at 4:30am and running out the door – your whole day and eating schedule can be a little bit out of whack from there," she notes.
After trying and giving up on a number of restrictive diets in the past, The Masked Singer judge was looking for a sustainable solution to manage her weight.
"Over the years, I've tried every diet under the sun (from the cabbage soup diet to the lemon detox diet) and none were healthy or endurable long term," Jackie explains.
"I joined WW so that I can feel healthier, be more active, feel good about myself, and fit into my old clothes again. It's also important to me that I set a good example for my daughter [Kitty, 10] about a healthy lifestyle and approach to eating."
Jackie adds, "WW is different as it offers a relaxed and modern approach to weight loss that's centred around your lifestyle and what works for you, rather than starving yourself trying to lose the weight - I was thrilled to learn I could still eat carbs! It feels so easy, I can't wait to tell everyone about it."
The star is hoping to lose 15-kilograms on the program.
