Gogglebox star Isabelle Silbery has revealed she suffered a broken jaw and other shocking facial injuries after falling down a staircase over Christmas.

The 34-year-old, who’s starred on the hit show since season three, took to Instagram from her hospital bed on Boxing Day, showing her bruised, swollen and bloodied face.

Isabelle suggested she was unknowingly drugged before the horrific accident, revealing to fans that there were “drugs found in my system I didn’t put there.”

“A broken jaw won’t stop me from having a Merry Xmas,” she wrote.

“A steep stair case + drinks + drugs found in my system that I didn’t put there = Christmas through a straw. Could’ve been a lot worse.”

The TV personality, who appears on Gogglebox alongside her mum and grandmother, went on to thank her fiancé, Alex Richards, who is now her “live-in nurse, chef and just the best carer I could ask for.”

Isabelle’s Gogglebox co-stars shared their concern in the comments section, with Faye Kontos writing: “Far out Izzy, yes could have been worse and thankfully it’s not, I hope you have a quick recovery.”

“OMG Izzy. Get Well,” wrote Faye’s Gogglebox partner Anastasia Katselas.

Isabelle has had a rough few months, after recently opening up about a miscarriage she suffered earlier this year.

The TV star, who shares a son with an ex-partner, got refreshingly candid about her experience on Instagram in November, writing: “I was pregnant and then I wasn’t”.

“Miscarriage is so hard… and after experiencing it myself recently and hearing the stories of other women and couples, I realise how common it is. I feel that it’s clearly not spoken about openly enough.

“It’s been a really rough time… the rollercoaster of getting my head around being a mother again and then suddenly having it taken away. I’m working my way through it and have had great support from my psychologist and my mates.

“What’s also been challenging is simultaneously supporting myself but also Alex as we process our individual losses,” she continued in her post.
