Talk of Dancing With The Stars judge Sharna Burgess becoming our next Bachelorette has been circling for weeks, and now the news has been all but confirmed.

Just days after Survivor star Locky Gilbert was announced as The Bachelor for 2020, TV Blackbox is reporting that Sharna has signed on the dotted line with Channel 10.

Ben Norris, best known for his stint on Big Brother, appeared on TV Blackbox‘s podcast to talk about Locky’s announcement as the next Bachelor.

Ben went on to reveal he “was told who the Bachelor and Bachelorette were going to be for 2020 on the same day.

“I did know Locky was doing it and I also did know that Sharna Burgess is the Bachelorette.

Ben then added he’s been told “the contract is dry and she is going to be the Bachelorette.”

Chatting to TV WEEK Sharna admitted she’d previously joked about becoming the Bachelorette at last year’s Melbourne Cup. The lighthearted comment then took on a life of its own.

“Ten were saying to me, ‘Are you serious about this? Would you want to do it? Let’s have a conversation,'” she says.

“And then I realised this could be a real thing if I wanted it to be.”

The 34-year-old star also revealed she’s been encouraged by fans, Channel 10 and her DWTS co-stars.

“I will say that everyone around me is on board, everyone in the States wants me to do it, and Amanda Keller [co-host of DWTS] is really keen for me to do it!” she says with a laugh.

The glamorous judge hasn’t been shy about her desire to find love, either.

“I’m at a point where I’m very clear about who I am and my direction in life,” Sharna says.

“But now, I want to share it with someone.”
