“I’m a very lucky girl!” Charlize Theron gushes about Sean Penn

They’ve been together for over a year but Charlize Theron and Sean Penn are still as smitten as ever!

Speaking about their romance in the latest issue of Esquire magazine, the 39-year-old beamed when it came to discussing her hunky man.

“I’m a very, very, very lucky girl. Very lucky. He’s hot. He is hot,” Charlize told the publication in an interview accompanying her sizzling cover shoot.

“How do you say that in an interview? You’re a forty-year-old woman sounding like a sixteen-year-old. There’s something beautiful about that, but you lack the articulation of really saying what it’s like when somebody walks into your life and makes you see something that you really never thought you’d be able to see,’ the 39-year-old joked.

“If somebody had said to me, ‘This is what it will be,’ I would’ve said, ‘F*** off.’ As you can see, it makes me smile.”

As for the possibility of tying the knot Charlize, who is the mother to three-year-old adopted son Jackson, played it coy: “The marriage thing is always so strange to me anyway.’

“I love the possibility of anything, but I’m really enjoying myself and the everyday moment and how that coincides with my son and my life and my friends.”

Charlize’s segue from the topic of marriage follows an evasive answer from Sean back in in January, when the movie star was asked if he’s ever consider walking down the aisle again.

“Yes, I’d get married again…” he told Esquire at the time.

Sean, 53, also indicated he’d consider a wedding to Charlize to be his “first marriage” despite previously having wed and divorced high-profile stars Madonna and Robin Wright.

“You say I’ve been married twice before but I’ve been married under circumstances where I was less informed than I am today, so I wouldn’t even consider it a third marriage, I’d consider it a first marriage on its own terms if I got married again.”

Charlize, who is starring in the upcoming Mad Max reboot, Mad Max: Fury Road opposite Tom Hardy, also dished the dirt on her contentious relationship with the British actor behind-the-scenes.

“We f***ing went at it, yeah,” she said. “And on other days, he and George [Miller, the director] went at it. It was the isolation, and the fact that we were stuck in a rig for the entire shoot.”

In spite of their on-set tensions during filming, Tom left the blonde beauty a little present when it was all over, with an accompanying note that read: “You are an absolute nightmare, BUT you are also f***ing awesome. I’ll kind of miss you. Love, Tommy.”

It looks like the South African-born beauty has bagged herself a keeper in Sean Penn!
