You’d think Vanessa Paradis wouldn’t be thrilled about Johnny Depp’s engagement to Amber Heard, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.
The 41-year-old actress is nothing but happy for her former beau Johnny, 50, and his fiancee 27-year-old Amber. In fact, he called her directly to tell her the good news.
“Vanessa wished him happiness,” a friend told US weekly. “No drama!”
“She’s not bitter, she’s happy.”
While Vanessa and Johnny lived happily unmarried for 14 years, Johnny and Amber are set to tie the knot after meeting on 2011 film The Rum Diary less than two years ago. The pair began dating in June 2012, shortly after he split from Vanessa.
The pair, who only recently starting going out in public together, sparked engagement rumours when Amber flashed a huge diamond sparkler on her ring finger.
“The proposal happened a couple of months ago,” the friend said. “She just hasn’t been wearing the ring.”
And it appears the couple are a perfect match, with one of Johnny’s friend’s telling People magazine, “She’s a great match for him and his individuality. She’s a free spirit.”
Vanessa, who has two children with Johnny – Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 11 – has also moved on from their romance.
She’s dating French pop star Benjamin Biolay, 41.
