Aussie golden boy Grant Denyer is officially returning to radio!

The Celebrity Name Game host will be hitting the airwaves as part of a Sydney summer breakfast program with a brand spanking new co-host, Yvie Jones from Gogglebox.

“I’m still working with SCA [Hit Network] and we’ve got some great projects coming up over the summer, which is fantastic because I love radio,” Grant told Now To Love.

“I had an absolute blast with that radio show [Grant, Ed and Ash] and I wouldn’t change it for the world, so it’s really cool to be able to some stuff with SCA and do things like summer breakfast.”

Grant admitted that the appeal of being on air was the fact that “radio is loose, fast, wild and free”.

“It’s a really exciting medium. I got a big buzz out of doing radio so I’m glad to continue working for them [Hit Network].”

Back in August, fans of Grant’s radio show were shocked to hear that the Grant, Ed and Ash Show was being axed.

Gemma Fordham, head of the Hit Network, made a statement regarding the 2Day FM breakfast change and thanked the trio for their dedication.

“A huge thank you must go to our breakfast show team, Grant, Ed & Ash, for the past 18 months- they are absolute professionals, have been a true delight to work with and have contributed to a culture of fun, community and inclusiveness we are proud of at 2Day FM,” she said.

Gemma also revealed that Grant would “continue making appearances around the Network.”

While the axing was a shock, the 42-year-old took it in his stride and turned his focus to his wife Chezzi and their two daughters, Sailor, eight, Scout, four.

“I want my focus, now that I have a little bit more breathing room in my life, on actually just being a better father and partner. I just want to be around the girls more, I want to do school pick-ups. I teaching myself how to cook properly and just be the guy I kind of always wanted to be but never had the time to be,” Grant explained.

“I’m putting it into the family at the moment because they’ve sacrificed a lot with me being away with radio and TV and I owe it to them, to put some time back into them.”

He will be hosting the World’s Biggest Cadbury Favourites box at the Overseas Passenger Terminal between 12pm and 2pm.

Cadbury Favourite competition, which has a total prize money of $1 million.

“I’ve seen this thing,” Grant said of the monument.

“It is enormous. It’ll almost dwarf the entire Opera House and it’s such a great place to be already. If you gather the family and want something fun to do for the school holidays then it’s the perfect chance to see something out of this world!”

The best thing of all? Free chocolate. But if you’re a Crunchie fun, you’ll have to fight Grant for it!
