It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since Georgia Love had to face the toughest period of her life.

As she could finally go public with her new boyfriend, Lee Elliott, her world was turned upside down as her mother Belinda Love tragically passed away from a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer at 60 years old.

And on Sunday, the reality TV star penned a heartfelt tribute to the most important woman in her life.

Alongside an adorable throwback of Georgia and her mum, the 29-year-old shared how hard the past year had been without her mum by her side.

“It’s amazing how one year can feel so long and so short all at once. 365 mornings waking up with a knot in my stomach,” Georgia said.

“Of not having you in the year I’ve needed you the most. 365 days without my best friend. There is nothing I wouldn’t give to have you back for just one day. I love you and miss you more than words. #f—cancer.”

Her post was inundated with messages of love and support from friends and fans alike.

“I love you. She would be so god damn proud of you and everything you’ve achieved this year. It’s been a hell of a year but you’ve not only survived, you’ve thrived,” Big Brother star Tully Smyth commented.

“You are such a strong girl Georgia and you have your Lee loving you and taking care of you,” one well-wisher said.

Another added: “I’m with you on this one @georgiealove — I lost my mum last year too! #f—cancer sounds about right. Hold tight lovely xx.”

At the time, Lee told us just how lucky he felt that he got to meet Belinda before she passed.

“It meant a lot to me to be there, and I could see how much it meant to Georgia. I feel so blessed. I wish our meeting had been in different circumstances, but that first moment was something that will stay with me forever,” he revealed last year.

Georgia and her mother were incredibly close.

And even in the toughest of times, Lee said Belinda managed to find humour.

“There was one moment when she looked at me and said ‘I didn’t think Georgia would pick you,’ and I was like, ‘this is awkward! But then she said ‘No, no, only because you were never my favourite and Georgia never picks my favourite,” Lee said.

Indeed it’s a bitter-sweet time for the newsreader, who also took a moment to acknowledge that it had been a year since she and Lee were finally allowed to go public with their romance after The Bachelorette finale.

“One year ago we were finally allowed to walk down the street together and this is pretty much how we’ve been doing it ever since,” Georgia mused alongside a pic of her and Lee strolling down a vineyard.

“It was always you. #justsaying #finaleversary,” Lee added.

We’re sending love and light to Georgia during this tough time.
