To millions of Aussies, Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald is the hilarious radio star brightening up their mornings alongside co-host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli.

But at home, the former Big Brother star is a dedicated father and loving husband.

On Tuesday, Fitzy gave an insight into his personal life by sharing a sweet throwback photo of him and wife Belinda to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary.

Fitzy and his wife Belinda have been married for 14 years.

“14 year anniversary married to the crème de la crème. The best thing that ever happened to me apart from out bustling Glen Jakovich in the square at Subiaco Oval (went back at slotted it)” his post began.

“A woman that recites A Tribe Called Quest lyrics, can mysteriously change outfits numerous times at house parties and has insistently asked me for a kiss before leaving the house at 5am in the morning for the last 16 years. I will love you more than you will ever know ❤️❤️.”

Fitzy first met Belinda in Adelaide in the early 2000s, and he claims she knew she was the one straight off the bat.

“She’s just a beautiful girl, inside and out,” he told 9Honey in 2022. “Her smile, her eyes … yeah, she basically sucked me in straight away.”

However, she had a boyfriend at the time, and Fitzy and Belinda wouldn’t cross paths again for another two years.

Speaking about their first kiss on his NOVA radio show, Fitzy and Wippa, Fitzy revealed that he ‘faked an injury’ to entice Belinda to smooch him for the very first time.

He was sitting on her bed at the time and had fallen off and hurt his back.

“She goes, ‘are you alright?’,” Fitzy recalled during the segment, which was all about first kisses.

“I said, ‘all I’ve wanted to do was to kiss you for so long’. And that’s how it started, I faked an injury,” he laughed.

The pair tied the knot in 2008 at Adelaide Oval, where he formerly played AFL with the Adelaide Crows.

“I promise to love you through good times and bad, with all I have to give and all I feel inside, in the only way I know how; completely and forever,” he promised in his vows.

Their reception was then hosted by famous radio comedians Merrick Watts and Tom Ross, of ‘Merrick and Rosso’ fame.

Fitzy also donned a pair of thongs for the bridal waltz, in classic ‘Aussie wedding’ fashion.

The couple share two sons – Hewston and Lenny.
