If you haven’t watched one of Whitney Thore’s “Fat Girl Dancing” videos, then frankly, you’re missing out.

Also, given that 5.7 million people have watched her first video, then you might just be in the minority.

Luckily for you, Thore, 30, who weighs around 172 kilograms and set the internet alight with videos of herself dancing to songs such as Jason Durulo’s Wiggle, is set to become a TV star.

Thore will star in a reality TV series called My Big Fat Fabulous on the TLC channel. It will follow Thore as she chases her dream of dancing, and also her attempts to lose some weight and live her life to its fullest extent.

For Thore, who suffers from polycystic ovarian syndrome which caused her to rapidly gain weight and means that she will always struggle to lose it, her mission is to spread the word about positive body image. No matter what size you are.

Thore’s empowering body image message of No Body Shame has gained momentum online, with Thore’s positivity and love of life proving to be infectious.

As Thore says in the trailer of her TV show about wanting to lose weight but not any sense of herself,

“I love all of the positive things that came out of the videos, but it doesn’t change that right now, I’m the heaviest that I’ve ever been in my whole life.”

“So I need to lose some weight so that I can do everything in life I want to do, and hopefully I can do that through dance.”

“I may be fat, but I am still fabulous. I have one life to live, and it damn sure better count.”

And now, if you still haven’t watched her video, as Molly Meldrum would say, do yourself a favour and click below.
