Farmer Lance calls it quits moments before finale ceremony

It definitely wasn’t the ending we saw coming.

In last night’s season finale of The Farmer Wants A Wife, we got an ending we didn’t quite see coming.

When it came round for Farmer Lance to unite with his last remaining love interest, Lisa, the 52-year-old had a last-minute change of heart.

Fans of the reality dating show thought he was smitten with the 51-year-old paralegal after they enjoyed a 24-hour date last week.

But last night, Lance made a shocking announcement, saying that Lisa didn’t him “goosebumps” and they didn’t have a “full connection”.

Lance wanted to tell her the news before the big finale ceremony, so he went and visited her.

“I had to come and see Lisa because it was only something I could do one-on-one,” he said.

Lisa told Lance when she saw him, “Over the period that I’ve known you, I’ve opened up my heart to you and let you touch it. You make me very happy.”

Lance then opened up about what was really on his mind.

“Well it’s only right that a man says how he feels. I’ve had a lot of time to think about it. I definitely think a lot of you and I just think we didn’t have that full connection.”

He added: “I wouldn’t be truthful to myself or truthful to you if I said that we could make a real go of it because it wouldn’t be right.”

In a piece to camera, Lance said: “My heart wasn’t 100 per cent loving Lisa. You just know it in yourself. You know every time you see that girl you get goosebumps you know what I mean, well the goosebumps weren’t there.”

“I actually felt saddened by it, but I believe it was the right decision to make,” he continued.

Well, at least he was honest.

As taken aback as she was, Lisa is not giving up on love anytime soon.

“I came into this with all the right reasons, looking for love. I haven’t given up on looking for love,” she later said.

“There’s somebody out there for me, I know there is. Where the bloody hell is he?”
