Elton John was able to laugh about it after he took a tumble on camera at a charity tennis match in London on the weekend.
Elton’s fall was captured on video and has since gone viral after the unfortunate few seconds of footage was uploaded as a continually looping video to social media site Vine, and has had over two and a half million views.
Elton was co-hosting the all-star Staloil Masters Tennis Cup with tennis legend Billie Jean King at London’s Royal Albert Hall to help raise funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Other competitors included tennis greats Kim Clijsters, John McEnroe, Andy Roddick and Martina Hingis.
Since the original spectacular tumble was uploaded, the full video has come to light, which shows Elton picking himself back up again and with lightning fast wit, even joking about it to the presenter Annabel Croft.
Elton joked: “I’m not standing, yeah yeah yeah!”
The line was a reference to his classic hit “I’m Still Standing”. Nicely played Elton!
