Deborah Knight has revealed she has been given a cancer diagnosis during her Afternoons radio segment on 2GB.

The radio and TV presenter, who’s known best for A Current Affair and Weekend Today, told listeners during her broadcast that a bump on her nose has been identified as skin cancer.

“I got my results from the bioscopy on the bump on my nose that my dermatologist was worried about,” Deb began.

“I told Ray about it when I had the big whopping band aid on my nose about this time last week… well it’s not the best news. It is a small basal cell carcinoma.

“So, it’s a small cancer and it’s nodular which means I’ve got to get it cut out. I’ve got to go under the knife.”

The TV and radio star got candid about her diagnosis.

Deb went on to detail that while non-invasive treatments are often available for skin cancers, they are not an option for her.

“I’ve got to actually get it cut out,” she said.

“I know we’re always being reminded to get our skin checked regularly and to wear sunscreen to cover up when we’re in the sun, but is so important and I just want to be a living reminder to that.”

Deb eased listener’s concerns as she added that the cancer is “not spreading” and is “not urgent.”

“It’s not a serious matter, at all, but it will happen in the next couple of weeks.”

Keeping the mood light and hopeful Deb even joked about using her diagnosis as a segment on A Current Affair.

Deb is a doting mum to three kids, Darcy, Elsa and Audrey, whom she shares with husband Lindsay Dunbar.
