The Australian cricket team is finally home after they were able to flee India amidst a COVID-19 wave via the Maldives on a private flight.

David Warner and his team were caught in India after the Australian government banned them and other Australian citizens from returning home as the country struggles to contain the outbreak.

However, now on the last leg of what had been an uncertain and frustrating journey, David is currently finishing his fourteen-day quarantine in Sydney.

As one can imagine, being separated from your family is a rather overwhelming and stressful situation, and the Warner family has been patient for their inevitable reunion.

As the emotional journey is nearing its end, David took to Instagram to pen a touching message dedicated to his wife, Candice Warner.

He posted a selfie of them together with the caption, “Not long now till I see my amazing wife @candywarner1 almost there 😂😂❤️❤️ #love #family.”

It seems like it has been understandably difficult for David to cope without his wife because it was only a few days earlier that he dedicated another post to his gorgeous wife.

“So much love ❤️ @candywarner1 miss you my love mwa #wife #bestfriend,” write David with another selfie of them with a Christmas themed filter.

Candice has also been missing her hubby.

Of course, Candice, who has been holding the fort at home while she takes care of the couple’s three daughters, Mae, Indi Rae and Isla Rose, has also struggled without her husband.

On her Instagram, she posted a black and white selfie with her husband and shared a sweet message in honour of David.

“Missing moments like these @davidwarner31. I love you. ♥️,” wrote Candice.

The family has been positive throughout the whole ordeal, and when David was stuck in India for an unknown length of time, Candice and her children sent sweet messages to him in an attempt to lift his spirits.

Candice posted a series of pictures on her Instagram of the artwork with the sweet caption, “Stay safe Daddy, come home as soon as you can. We love you. @davidwarner31 #staysafe ( a letter from Ivy) ❤️🙏.”

David reposted the picture onto his Instagram with the heartbreaking caption, “My gorgeous Ivy ❤️❤️❤️ so much love @candywarner1 #family.”
