What makes a man sexy is, of course, fairly subjective. One woman’s lust for a suitor’s strong shoulders is another woman’s desire for a sharp wit. Or both. (Imagine!)
But our differing tastes in all things men doesn’t stop People magazine from declaring one fine fellow the cream of the crop in their annual Sexiest Man Alive issue.
This year the prestigious title has been bestowed upon former professional football player and man about London town, David Beckham.
Some will, inevitably, say it’s an odd choice. But the down-to-earth dad of four and husband to Victoria Beckham is taking the award in his stride.
“We kind of laughed about it with the boys and the boys kind of laughed at me,” David told People of the moment he revealed the news to his family. “[They] said, ‘Really?! Sexiest man alive? Really?’”
And whether you agree with David getting the gong or not, I think we can all concede that the doting dad looks pretty bloody great with his kids by his side. Now that’s sexy.
