David Beckham is sick of people he does not know weighing in on his parenting abilities. And, judging by his latest Instagram post, the football superstar isn’t willing to sit back and watch the unwarranted judgement come through for any longer.
The 40-year-old hit back at an article published by The Daily Mail yesterday that criticised his daughter, Harper’s, continued use of a dummy. The journalist of that piece, Jemma Buckley, wrote that “experts warn David and Victoria Beckham’s little girl may end up with ‘speech or dental issues’ if she continues to use one”.
Harper is four years old.
David, unimpressed with the unsolicited advice, said the reporters had “no right” to make such comments.
“Why do people feel they have the right to criticise a parent about their own children without having any facts??” he wrote in a post liked over 170,000 times on Instagram in 30 minutes.
“Everybody who has children knows that when they aren’t feeling well or have a fever you do what comforts them best and most of the time it’s a pacifier so those who criticise think twice about what you say about other people’s children because actually you have no right to criticise me as a parent…”
Harper has always been Daddy’s little girl as the youngest child to Victoria and David. This latest post by David just reaffirms how special she is.
